Since graduating from the College of Estate Management in 1976 Charles has spent 35 years focussed on advising clients involved in the commercial property sector particularly in the greater midlands area. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1986.
Initially working in Coventry but then moving to Birmingham in 1979 he has established a strong reputation for quality advice and guidance delivering real value to clients across the market. With substantial hands on experience, knowledge, great contacts and a clear thinking approach he brings a new dimension to clients and their properties. With proven delivery skills even in difficult and challenging markets he is one of the regions key advisors.
Having recognised the importance of engaging in the community in which you work he has been an active participant in many business, community and voluntary organisations over the years – he chaired the West Midland Region of the British Lung Foundation, was a Director and Interim Chief Executive of Birmingham Forward, founder Board member of Birmingham City Centre Partnership, founded and chaired the City Centre Living Forum and was a non exec in How2 a business involved in organisational development based in Birmingham. Having established Boston Fieldgate in Kenilworth in 1999 he is currently Vice Chair of the Town Centre Partnership and is a former Executive member of the local Chamber of Trade. Charles was the inspiration behind The Rabbit Guide to Birmingham – the city’s only independent full colour tourist guide and is co owners of the business. With other interests such as golf, walking , travel , DIY and gardening Charles is kept pretty busy outside of the working day.
Andie Smith

Andie spent her career prior to 2004 working as an Occupational Therapist. More latterly since 1995 she had worked at The Royal Leamington Spa Rehabilitation Hospital as a Senior Occupational Therapist working with young adults with acquired head injuries, helping them to find a path back to independence .The time had come for a complete career change so in 2004 she joined the practice as a partner to take responsibility for all the administrative matters. Andie’s arrival meant Charles could focus all his energy on working with clients. Her people and organisational skills have made a significant difference to the day to day operation of the business. Outside of work – walking , travel, ladies gym, cycling, cinema and singing in a local choir – she has been known to sing at The Symphony Hall, The Royal Albert Hall and even the Epcot Centre, Florida. All this keeps Andie fully occupied.
